D’Tigress get national honors as each player receives $100,000 for winning AfroBasket Women Championship

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rewarded each player of the D’Tigress team with $100,000, a new apartment, and the Order of the Niger (OON) national honours as a token of appreciation for winning an unprecedented fifth consecutive AfroBasket Women Championship.

Additionally, each coach was also rewarded with $50,000 in recognition of their accomplishments and conferred with the Order of the Niger (OON) national honours.

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, who represented the President, announced this at the welcome ceremony for the team on Monday evening, when he welcomed them shortly after they arrived from Cote d’Ivoire after the team’s unprecedented fifth consecutive #AfroBasketWomen victory.

This is coming a few days after the Super Falcons defeated Morocco to lift their 10th WAFCON title and were also decorated with National Honours by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Tigress were welcomed by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hanatu Musawa, and other top government officials.
