Wike to honour FCT athletes

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is set to honour victorious athletes who recently represented the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in various games.

The honour and reception is in recognition of the athletes’ performance at the various Games and will be staged on Thursday 16th January, 2025.

The historic performance of the team during their participation at the Games which includes National Youth Games(NYG) and the National Sports Festival (NSF), is what led to Nyesom Wike’s approval that a special reception be held in their honour.

The event is organized to appreciate the team’s great acts of sacrifice, patriotism and determination, demonstrated at the Games which brought the FCT a great level of positivity in sports.

The Minister reiterated that he would continue to create an enabling environment for sports to thrive as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration focus, which is to engage the teeming youths in the FCT as well as to help discover and harness their potentials.
