Sevilla Coach Backs Kelechi Iheanacho To Rediscover Best Form

Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has thrown his weight behind Nigerian international, Kelechi Iheanacho to rediscover his best form at the club.

Iheanacho joined the Rojiblancos on a free transfer this summer.

The 27-year-old is however yet to prove his class at the club.

The former Manchester City player has made just two league appearances for Sevilla this season.

The Nigerian was left on the bench in the last weekend’s 1-0 home win against Getafe.

Pimienta however believed Iheanacho will get better with time.

“He (Iheanacho) has been with us all week and is doing well,” Pimienta said ahead of Sevilla’s league clash with Alaves.

“He didn’t play last week because he had only recently got back from international duty and was tired from all the flying,” he said.

The coach further praised Iheanacho’s abilities and potential impact on the team, saying, “he’s a great player and we have full faith in him. He brings quality and can take his chance when it comes.”

Sevilla FC’s head coach expressed unwavering confidence in Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, asserting that the player is on the cusp of rediscovering his best form. This statement comes amid a challenging period for Iheanacho, who has faced scrutiny over his performance in recent matches. The coach’s support highlights both the player’s potential and the club’s commitment to nurturing talent.

Current Performance Analysis

Kelechi Iheanacho has been under pressure following a series of inconsistent performances this season. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, including moments of skill and creativity, he has struggled to find the back of the net consistently. Statistics indicate that he has only scored a handful of goals this season compared to previous campaigns where he was more prolific. This dip in form has raised questions among fans and analysts about his role in the team.

Coach’s Perspective

The Sevilla coach emphasized that every player goes through phases of ups and downs, particularly in high-stakes environments like La Liga. He noted that Iheanacho possesses exceptional technical skills and an innate understanding of the game, which are critical attributes for any forward. The coach pointed out that with continued support from teammates and coaching staff, Iheanacho can regain his confidence and return to scoring form.

Moreover, the coach mentioned specific training regimens tailored for Iheanacho to enhance his goal-scoring abilities. These include focused drills on finishing techniques and positioning during matches to create better opportunities for scoring. The emphasis on mental resilience was also highlighted; the coach believes that maintaining a positive mindset is essential for athletes facing challenges.

As Sevilla FC continues its campaign in La Liga and other competitions, all eyes will be on Kelechi Iheanacho as he seeks to turn around his fortunes on the pitch. With strong backing from his coach and teammates, there is optimism surrounding his potential resurgence as a key player for Sevilla FC.
