She gained recognition as a newsreader and reporter before transitioning into music. Initially starting as a secular artist in the early 1980s, she later embraced gospel music in the 1990s. Onyeka’s impact extended beyond music; she also acted in numerous Nollywood films and served as a judge on X Factor Nigeria. Her political involvement included being appointed Chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts and Culture and later serving as Executive Director of the National Centre for Women Development.
