2024 Sheroes Cup: We expect scouts from around the world-Edeh
Organizers of the annual Sheroes Pre-season Women’s tournament, say plans are on to ensure a befitting 7th edition of the women’s competition.
President of the Ratels Sports Development Foundation, Barrister Paul Edeh disclosed this on Thursday during a press briefing in Abuja.
Barrister Edeh said the main objective of this year’s edition is to give participating clubs the platform to showcase their players as foreign agents will be on ground to shop for talents.
“We are looking at a situation where this year’s edition will offer opportunities for players abroad and domestic players will get the opportunity to be noticed and by extension get a chance to play in clubs across Europe”.
The Chairman Benue State Football Association added that 14 clubs are expected to take part in the tournament including 2 clubs from other African countries.
“Thus far we have 12 teams that hava confirmed their attendance and participation in this edition and we are also expecting at many foreign clubs that are also joining us, we are on the verge of concluding logistics. We equally expect that for the first time we are going to have scouts come in from across the world. We are expecting 5 scouts from different climes”. He stated.
The Sheroes Cup which is adjudged the biggest preseason tournament in Africa is scheduled to take place from October 3 to 13, 2024 in Abuja.
