ACAN Endorses CDK Integrated Industries Limited at Pre-AGM Dinner

CDK Integrated Industries Limited, the only manufacturers of porcelain tiles in Nigeria hosted the Association of Consulting Architects Nigeria (ACAN) to an evening of networking, music, fine dining and knowledge sharing. The event was tagged the Pre-AGM dinner of ACAN. The dinner which was held at The Wheatbaker Hotel saw the Association of Consulting Architects Nigeria endorsing CDK’s porcelain tiles and sanitary wares’ world class quality.

In attendance were the management of CDK Integrated Industries Limited, present and past Presidents of The Association of Consulting Architects Nigeria (ACAN); Architects who are members of ACAN, tile distributors, other industry influencers and members of the press.

The event presented relevant information about CDK’s “Made in Nigeria” porcelain tiles and sanitary wares and also served as an opportunity for practicing Architects in Nigeria to interact with CDK top management. Members of the Association were able to review CDK’s products and give feedbacks about the world class quality of the products.

Speaking at the event, Bernard Longe, MD/CEO of CDK in his opening address spoke about the difference between porcelain and ceramic tiles, the challenges of local production of tiles in Nigeria, the new range of porcelain tiles that CDK intends introducing in January and plans for expansion among other topics. He said that, “CDK is aware that a few unscrupulous local producers are producing ceramic white body tiles but are mislabeling same on their packaging passing them as Porcelain.” “Porcelain tiles are harder than ceramic and for this reason, they are more suitable for external use and high traffic areas”, Bernard added.

Architect Mansur Ahmadu, President of ACAN commended CDK Integrated Industries Limited for their investment in the tile and sanitary wares industry in Nigeria. “As Architects, it is always good that we are furnished with relevant information that enables us make the best decision as project managers and the information that CDK is sharing about the world class quality of their “Made-in-Nigeria” porcelain tiles and sanitary wares is coming at the right time”, Ahmadu said. He also appreciated CDK for hosting ACAN at this year’s pre-AGM dinner and in his word, “The Association will continue to propagate the message of CDK’s world class quality “Made in Nigeria” porcelain tiles and sanitary wares which is a suitable replacement for imported tiles and sanitary wares.”

CDK currently employs locally more than 600 hundred citizens at different levels which is obviously in the overall interest of the economy to expand local manufacturing capacity and provide more employment opportunities for the teeming army of unemployed youths.

The CDK factory is located on 50 hectares of land and this is a pointer to the future aspirations of CDK to expand production and also venture into local production of related products such as bathroom and kitchen faucets all of which are presently imported.

The dinner ended with review and feedback sessions, where architects, builders and distributors who have used CDK tiles and sanitary wares shared positive testimonials of the products and pledged their support for CDK.
