Fans Vote Ahmed Musa’s Goals As Their Favourite Memory From The Volgograd Arena

Nigeria’s wavy kit made the Super Eagles one of the most loved teams at 2018 World Cup. The love was reinforced in the team’s group stage game against Iceland, thanks to Ahmed Musa, who scored two brilliant goals.

Now, fans have voted his astonishing performance as their favourite World Cup memory from The Volgograd Arena.

FIFA highlighted moments from all four games that took place in the stadium during the World Cup. Within 24 hours, they recorded over 44,000 votes, with Musa’s brace winning by a wide margin of up to 80%.

After Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to Croatia, the 26-year-old’s performance caused a storm of hype across the world and helped the Super Eagles muster the confidence they used to play against Argentina in their last group game. It also transformed Musa from a struggling player on loan to a player suddenly commanding the interest of many big clubs.

Three months ago, his second goal in the match was shortlisted for the Goal of the Tournament. It went on to take the eight position out of the 18 that were shortlisted.
