Popular Nigerian Reggae icon, Ras Kimono is dead
Nigerian Reggae icon, RasKimono, is dead. The legendary singer, whose real name was Ukeleke Onwubuya, died today, June 10 in Lagos. It was gathered that he had already concluded plans to travel to the United States last night, but he complained of not feeling too well.
He was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja, then later taken to Lagoon Hospital, where he eventually gave up the ghost.
Ras Kimono was aged 60.
Ras Kimono is a Nigerian reggae artist whose debut album Under Pressure, led by the single “Rum-Bar Stylée”, was a big hit in the Nigerian music scene in 1989.
