Nigeria’s biggest Fashion Export Mayowa Nicholas Just Landed Her First Vogue Cover

There is no doubt that Mayowa Nicholas is currently Nigeria’s biggest fashion export, and she continues to prove exactly why that is. We all know how hard it is to make it as a black model globally, but Mayowa keeps overcoming obstacles and soaring.

After getting discovered four years ago, winning the Elite Model Look, she has now landed her first-ever Vogue cover — which is a big deal for anyone in fashion, let alone a 20-year-old model!

Her poise, pillowy lips and perfect physique have charmed a lot of casting directors, fashion designers and fashion enthusiasts. Even though Mayowa grew up in Lagos, the stars aligned such that her talent would make her a citizen of the world, and fall into the hands of international fashion powerhouses such as Miu Miu, Calvin Klein, H&M and many more.

Mayowa graces the cover of Vogue Germany’s July edition, wearing a red Christopher Kane dress, looking like the baddest bitch in the whole world. We’re not sure there has been any other Nigerian on the cover of Vogue, making her the epitome of ‘taking Nigeria to the world’, and we are so happy to be following her rise in the ranks.
