Sean Tizzle Switches Up His Sound On New Track, ‘Pempe’
Sean Tizzle is one of the most widely underrated artists in the Nigerian music industry, and it looks like he plans to fix that in 2018.
Earlier this year, he released two impressive songs, “Best For You” and “Kpro Kpro”, and he has now followed those up with another impressive release, “Pempe“.
Much like his hits in the past, such as “Sho Lee” and “Perfect Gentleman”, “Pempe” is a jam. While Sean Tizzle switches it up a bit on the track — with a new sound we can’t quite place a finger on — he still manages to deliver a banger
‘Pempe’ sounds like a word he made up, but from what we can gather from the lyrics, he’s singing praises about a girl. He says “her body shine like ororo” and that “every time [she] step in the place it catch fire”. With a solid mid-tempo beat, we can tell this song will be a hit in the party scene.
As usual, the music video pales in comparison to the song, succumbing to the typical clichés – the smoky effect, a dingy basement and a light-skinned model. It’s a good thing we won’t need to watch the video every time we hear the song, and we hope Sean Tizzle continues to deliver for the rest of 2018.
