Sauce Kid breaks silence on two-year jail term, says ‘the past does not matter’

Sauce Kid, a rapper who completed his prison sentence for card fraud in March, says “the past doesn’t matter”.

According to the artiste born Babalola Falemi, he “did the crime” and “did the time”.

The rapper was in 2017 jailed for two years in the US for stealing $15,388 at Treasure Valley, Idaho.

Sauce Kid, also known as Sinzu, was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, eight counts each of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, and possession of 15 or more fraudulent bank cards.

The ‘Carolina’ rapper was arrested at Boise Airport as he was about to board a flight.

He was found in possession of a card encoding device and about $6,000 in cash. He spent his sentence in a federal prison.

Speaking for the first time since regaining his freedom, Sauce Kid on Sunday put out his first tweet in almost two years.

“Enough space for the real. Here I come,” he wrote.

“Did the crime, did the time, the past don’t matter, mind over matter, onto other matters.”

Some of his colleagues also welcomed him back to social media with messages of support.
