Listen To Seyi Shay, Flavour and DJ Consequence Kill It On Her New Track, ‘Alele’
While Seyi Shay hasn’t been able to match her 2017 monster hit, “Yolo”, she’s still been dropping relatively solid jams. A few months ago, she kicked off 2018 with the underheard gem, “Bia”, and now she’s followed that up with another banger, “Alele” featuring Flavour & DJ Consequence.
Seyi Shay has definitely switched up her sound from when she first came out, and we’re loving it! On “Alele”, she seamlessly fuses highlife sounds from the East with her usual afropop sensibilities — and the result is absolutely infectious.
As a crowning jewel, Flavour delivers a stellar closing verse following Seyi Shay’s catchy hook. “Alele” is definitely a dance song, which the gwara gwara will work perfectly with (we appreciate the slight break from the shaku shaku movement).
The subject matter of the song is unclear, as the lyrics are haphazard, however, this is not a song that we need lyrical content for — we only need to vibe to it! With this track being the first off her upcoming EP, Electric Package Vol 1, we’re looking forward to what else she has to offer!
