Mr Eazi & Efya Team Up On New Track, ‘Mama (Give Me)’

Two years ago, Mr Eazi teamed up with Efya on his breakout hit, “Skintight” — an exceptional track he still hasn’t come close to matching. Now, Mr Eazi finally returns the favour by hopping on Efya’s new song, “Mama (Give Me)”.

While the MOG Beatz-produced “Mama (Give Me)” might lack the special touch DJ Juls brought to “Skintight”, it’s a pretty solid collaboration nonetheless. Granted, we don’t see it becoming a smash hit but it will definitely have its fans.

On the track, Efya and Mr Eazi sing about a complicated relationship. While their individual verses find them singing about their feelings for each other, the chorus indicates that they are both insecure about how the other person really feels. “Is it true love?… Tell me I want to know”, they both ask.

Although this isn’t the home run we were expecting from the talented Ghanaian singer, it’s definitely an improvement from her first single of the year, “Whoman Woman”. Now, all we want is for Wizkid to follow Mr Eazi’s lead and repay Efya’s standout work on “Daddy Yo” with a feature.
