Watch Ycee, Bella Alubo & The Tinny Mafia Crew In The Video For ‘Kokoka’
It’s not surprising to see label mates on a song together, as previously we’ve had “Baddest Boy” by the EME crew and more recently, “Mind” by DMW. They usually come together to play to each other’s strengths and this is exactly what Tinny Mafia have done with their latest song, “Kokoka“.
Featuring Ycee, Bella Alubo, Damilare and Dapo Tuburna, “Kokoka” is an afropop hit which will catch on quickly. Even though each artist has their own distinct style, they marry them all together quite well on this track and don’t have to compromise their sound for it. The song is laden with sexual innuendos and references in Yoruba which you’ll find is usually quite crass, but the Tinny Mafia manage to do this tastefully.
Another great thing about “Kokoka” is that it has introduced us to Damilare & Dapo Turbuna’s sounds, which we were not very familiar with prior to this. Given that they were the best part of the song, with Damilare’s great intro verse and Dapo Turbuna’s hook, we are looking forward to hearing more from them.
