Chidinma Drops Adorable Music Video For New Song, ‘Love Me’

Two months ago — right after making her movie debut in Kunle Afolayan’s drama, The Bridge — the versatile Chidinma decided to end her musical hiatus with the unabashedly romantic, “Love Me”. Now, she’s followed up with a stunning video for the song.

Produced by Oscar (the brains behind most of Adekunle Gold’s best songs), “Love Me” is a mid-tempo track that is carried from start to finish by Chidinma’s remarkable voice. Honestly, she could sing this song acapella and it would still be awesome.

On the track, alternating between singing in English and Igbo, Chidinma proclaims her feelings for the man she’s with and begs him to love her like he’s never loved anyone. “You’re my lover, my life and my best friend”, she sings at the start of the first verse.

For the music video, which was directed by Asurf Oluseyi (Hakkunde), Chidinma is presented like a fly on the wall in another couple’s love story. She sings as the two lovers fight, break up and eventually reconcile.
