Listen To Phyno’s First Single Of The Year, ‘Isi Ego’

While Phyno never really got the credit he deserved for his standout run in 2017 — we were all a little too obsessed with Davido and Wizkid — he was actually one of the most consistently great Nigerian artists of the year.

He not only delivered solid track after solid track — “If To Say”, in particular, was an underrated gem — he also managed to shine on every single song he was featured on. Now, he is back with his first single of 2018, “Isi Ego”, and it’s expectedly wonderful.

Produced by I Am Beats — the genius behind “If To Say” — the smooth “Isi Ego” (which translates to “smell of money”) is definitely one of Phyno’s best rap songs. Delivering the track entirely in Igbo, Phyno continues to prove that whether he is rapping or singing, he is one of our strongest artists.

Following the exceptional “If To Say” and the Wande Coal-assisted “Zamo Zamo”, “Isi Ego” is further proof that we should be very excited for Phyno’s third studio album. He is clearly gearing up to release another brilliant and diverse body of work.
