Watch Niniola Get The Guy Of Her Dreams In The Video For ‘Oyin’
The undisputed queen of afro-house, Niniola was one of the Nigerian artists who won 2017. She not only had two brilliant hit singles, “Maradona” and “Sicker”, she also dropped one of the best albums of the year, This Is Me.
She then kicked off her 2018 with the video for her third Sarz-produced single, “Saro”. Now, she is back with another video for one of the album’s standout tracks, “Oyin”.
Produced by DJ Berry and Natialo, “Oyin” finds Niniola ditching her afro-house comfort zone to show off her r&b chops. It’s not just one of her best songs to date, it’s also one of the best r&b songs that we’ve had from a Nigerian artist in quite some time.
On the track, Niniola tackles an all-consuming love. She sings about wanting to be the only one in her man’s life — from making it clear that his friends don’t care about him as much as she does to professing that she doesn’t mind being all his.
The colour-soaked music video, which was directed by Clarence Peters, follows Niniola as she tries to win over her handsome neighbour. From listening in on his arguments with his girlfriend to intentionally bumping into him in the hallway, we lowkey root for her until she eventually gets the guy.
