Watch The Video For Seyi Shay’s ‘Bia’, Her Best Song Since ‘Yolo Yolo’
2017 was a really weird year for the talented Seyi Shay. While she was able to land a hit with the infectious “Yolo Yolo” — one of the year’s standout tracks — everything else she released after that got more or less ignored.
Before the year ran out, however, she quietly released the outstanding “Bia” — her best song since “Yolo Yolo” — and she’s finally pushing it with a music video.
Produced by Lussh, “Bia” is a salsa-flecked afropop song that finds Seyi Shay embracing her sexuality. On the track, she invites a sexy stranger she meets on the dancefloor to leave the woman he came with and grind all up on her.
“Baby to touch is allowed/To tap current is allowed/If you dey feel my body/Come forth and grab the body”, she sings on the sexy and catchy hook. It’s easily the best part of the whole song.
Considering how great and pointed the song is, it’s a little frustrating that the corresponding music video is so all over the place. Directed by Clarence Peters, the video is flooded with too many scenes that, all while gorgeously shot, are mostly confusing and pointless.
