SPOTLIGHT: Adeolu Adefarasin Is About To Take Nollywood By Storm

You probably know him as Nathan, the guy who was in the way of Tiwa & Mide’s love in the third season of Skinny Girl In Transit, however, Adeolu Adefarasin is more than that guy! The young actor discovered his passion for acting at a very young age and has since devoted his time to perfecting his craft.

Adeolu got to flex his acting muscles way before Nollywood, as unlike a lot of other young Nigerian actors, he trained in the art and has a university degree in Theatre Arts.

He then went on to attend the New York Film Academy with the aim of making a shift from theatre to television.

While living abroad, he earned rave reviews for his performances in classic plays like Hamlet and Silent in London before moving to New York, where he got a lead role in The Lady and The Tyger.

 

After moving back to Nigeria in 2015, he’s stormed his way into Nollywood by starring in everyone’s fave web-series, Skinny Girl In Transit, and several other big films such as My Wife & I, The Wedding Party 1 & 2 and will be in the upcoming Tope Oshin film, New Money.

 

Even though he’s a new face in the industry, he’s definitely one to watch as his passion supersedes being in front of the camera. He actually wants to make a difference in the film industry.

Speaking to Guardian Life about his influences, Adeolu said:

“Film has always inspired me, I’ve always been drawn to it and to use it as a tool to effect change.

I also believe I have a role to play in improving the nature of the content we are selling; the values being taught and the morals behind stories.

Too often now film sets either unrealistically high standards of expectation or makes poor values and bad morals seem cool.”

Well, we’re definitely excited to see where his career takes him. Although we didn’t get much face time with him in The Wedding Party 1 & 2, we’re hoping that if there’s a part 3 (and we all know there will be), he’ll be playing a bigger role!
