About a month ago, Burna Boy released two songs “Gba” and “Deja Vu” at once and to be honest, when “Deja Vu” dropped, we were underwhelmed. We also said however, that it was a grower and it has definitely grown!! Burna just released a moody and eerie video to accompany the song, which has aged the song even better!
The beat of “Deja Vu” is electric and exciting, reminiscent of something out of a Fela album. This is not surprising for a Burna Boy sound, and whilst it’s difficult to engage at first, the song gets more character after each play.
It’s given even more character after watching the dimly lit and moody video (directed by Clarence Peters). The video shows Burna Boy on the beach with some ladies dressed up like Fela’s dancers, and also shows him partying with them in a room that looks a bit like Fela’s shrine.
