Enugu Rangers resume training in Ijebu-Ode December 28
Enugu Rangers will open a two-week training camp at Ijebu Ode December 28, general manager Davidson Owumi has said, while also saying he has yet to attend to the transfer of returnee Chisom Egbuchulam
“The players have gone on a short Christmas break,” Owumi said.
“They will regroup on December 28 at Ijebu Ode where we will hold a two-week close door camping ahead of the new season.”
Rangers will be guests of Akwa United on the opening day of the 2017/2018 season on January 14 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Owumi further disclosed he’s yet to wade into striker Chisom Egbuchulam’s registration matter.
“At the moment, I’m faced with the Rangers’ Youth team since the senior team is on break”, Owumi said.
“So, I’m yet to get into the Egbuchulam issue”.
Egbuchulam emerged as Rangers top scorer as ‘The Flying Antelopes’ ended their 32-year trophy drought with a haul of the 2015/2016 NPFL title.
He moved on a season long loan to BK Hacken of Sweden days after he allegedly assured the state governor of his availability for the 2017 CAF Champions League.
After he was released by the Swedish side, the striker has returned to Enugu but Rangers have been unwilling to list him for their new season squad for fear of a possible backlash by the state government.
