Chidinma Ekile Falls For A Prince In The Trailer For Kunle Afolayan’s ‘The Bridge’
A few days ago, we excitedly reported that Project Fame winner and “Kedike” singer, Chidinma Ekile had joined the ever-growing ranks of successful Nigerian artists giving Nollywood a shot – think Banky W, Seyi Shay and Vector.
Well, for her debut feature film role, Chidinma definitely hit the jackpot: co-leading a thrilling Kunle Afolayan-directed romance, The Bridge. And the movie just for a pretty gripping trailer.
The Bridge will follow Obadare (played by Demola Adedoyin), a Yoruba prince and Stella (played by Chidinma), a young lady from a distinguished Igbo family, whose love is threatened by tribal prejudice and their parents’ plans for their lives.
When the couple secretly gets married against their parents’ wishes, the consequence shakes the very foundation and sustenance of both families.
From the two-minute trailer, Chidinma already seems to be giving a solid performance; which isn’t that surprising if we are being honest. Kunle Afolayan is the rare Nollywood director who actually knows how to bring out the best in his performers.
Besides Adedoyin and Chidinma, The Bridge boasts an impressive cast of new and veteran actors, including Zack Orji, Kunle Afolayan, Tina Mba, Adebayo Salami, Lanre Hassan, Jimoh Aliu and more.
The Bridge will be in cinemas nationwide from December 8. Watch the gripping trailer below:
