Watch Falz Try To Win Yemi Alade’s Love In The Video For ‘Single & Searching’
After dropping a 30-second teaser that got us all considerably hyped for its release, the music video for Yemi Alade and Falz’s third collaboration, “Single & Searching” – following “Marry You” and “Soupé” – is finally here.
The Young D-produced song, which was released alongside “Heart Robber” in anticipation of her new LP, Black Magic, is exactly what you’d except from a Yemi and Falz collaboration: immensely fun, hilarious and catchy.
For the music video, which was directed by the in-demand Clarence Peters, we find Yemi Alade trying to recreate the magic of her record-breaking hit, “Johnny” – now the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube.
Like that video it centers on a cheating man, this time played by Falz, who leaves his wife (played by the hilarious Maraji) to go woo Yemi Alade. While the video definitely has its funny moments, it never really rises above its familiar trappings.
