Enyimba beat Kano Pillars to Katsina United skipper Nasiru Sani

Kano Pillars have been dealt a big blow after they lost out to rivals Enyimba in the race to sign Katsina United skipper Nasiru Sani.

The former Kwara United wing-back arrived Aba yesterday evening ahead of a medical with Enyimba scheduled for today after which he will sign for the seven-time Nigeria champions.

Nasiru Sani said: “Yes, I am in Aba now ahead of my medical.

“Every other terms and conditions have been discussed and we have reached an agreement.”

He also revealed Kano Pillars were also keen to sign him.

“I thought I was going to join Pillars because they have been pushing for my signature since the end of last season, but the deal could not go through,” Nasiru said.

The leftback or central defender said his transfer to Enyimba will enhance his profile.

“I have actually paid my dues to Katsina United and this is the right time for me to take a bold step so as to improve my career,” he said.

“No player in Nigeria will say no to Enyimba because they are the most successful football club in the country.

“I have made the right decision to join one of the football power houses in Nigeria.”
