Reekado Banks Drops The Video For His Love Song ‘Easy (Jeje)’

Two months ago, the Mavin Records singer Reekado Banks dropped two brilliant singles, “Kiss Me” and “Easy (Jeje)”. While both songs were great, the strictly afropop “Easy (Jeje)” was definitely the standout – and the music video just dropped.

Produced by the brilliant Altims (the man behind most of Reekado’s biggest hits), the catchy song finds Reekado obsessing over a girl he only just met with lyrics like “Girl I have a question to ask you today/Will you marry me even though I met you today?”

While the song in itself is solid, the music video isn’t particularly memorable. It’s built around a storyline that has been done to death: boy meets girl, girl likes boy, girl’s parents hate boy but girl doesn’t care. That really doesn’t help the song stand out.

With this song and “Kiss Me”, Reekado Banks continues to be one of the most consistently impressive artistes signed to Mavin Records. And while we don’t know when his sophomore album will drop, if it’s half as great as his debut Spotlight, we will be in for another pleasant surprise.
