Black Artists From Around The World Break The Internet With Their Drawings

A month ago, Twitter deservedly celebrated ten years of one of its most popular and consistent features: the hashtag (#).

Bringing together conversations on anything from the relatable (#SecSchoolInNigeria) to the hilariously viral (#WhenAliensMeetNigerians), the hashtag has become one of social media’s most effective glues.

And every once in a while – in between the hashtags promoting tech events and album launches – a surprisingly delightful one pops up that reminds us why this feature is so important in the first place. This weekend it was #DrawingWhileBlack.

The #DrawingWhileBlack hashtag, which started sometime on Saturday and quickly went viral, found talented black artists from all around the world sharing their names, their locations and their stunning drawings on Twitter.
