Omoni Oboli’s ‘Wives On Strike’ Is Getting A Sequel & TV Spin-Off

In 2016, actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli struck gold with her comedy, Wives On Strike – which is still one of the most commercially successful movies in Nollywood history.

The movie which starred Oboli, Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha and Ufuoma McDermott, followed a group of market women who decide to starve their husbands of sex – in order to get them to stop their friend from marrying off his 13-year-old daughter.

An upcoming sequel and TV show

The movie’s popularity has led Oboli to create a sequel, Wives On Strike: The Revolution, which is set to premiere nation wide on December 29. While no synopsis has been revealed, it will feature the original leading cast.

Oboli also announced, a while ago, that the movie will be getting a TV spin-off – which she has already finished shooting. While there’s no news about when it will be released or what we should expect, we are still pretty excited to spend more time in one of the best worlds Oboli has created.

Till then, you can catch Oboli alongside Ramsey Noauh in the supernatural comedy, My Wife & I.
