The mountain is also called Gangirwal. It is located in the Gahshaka Gunti Forest Reserve, on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba State. Chappal Wadi is cited as the highest point in West Africa . It is 2, 914 meters high.
The mountain is infamously referred to as ‘The Mountain of Death’
