Terry Apala Continues To Impress With New Single ‘Feel Me’

The Nigerian music scene can be incredibly frustrating – the mediocre artistes rise to the top of the food chain with regurgitated beats and lazy lyrics, while the truly gifted artistes remain annoyingly under the radar.

You, watching your favourite artiste remain underrated:

One of such artistes is the man breathing new life into an old, great Nigerian genre, Terry Apala, whose infectious blend of apala and trap isn’t getting half the acclaim it deserves.

Granted, his more recent singles haven’t quite reached the heights of his biggest hit, “Champagne Showers”; but even at his weakest, Terry Apala’s work still towers over the afropop sameness we are forced to endure every other day.

Well, we think – but mostly hope – that 2017 might just be the year of Terry Apala. Following his exceptional cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”, his pitch perfect feature on Sess’ “That’s Wassup” and his most recent single “Feel Me”, Terry seems to have found his footing again.

While “That’s Wassup” showed us that Terry Apala’s signature growl works best over a solid trap beat, the pop-heavy “Feel Me” is yet another reminder that the best artistes can hop on any genre without ever losing what makes them special.
