Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Roti’ Will Premeire As Part Of The Lagos @ 50 Celebration
Following the success of his Patience Ozokwor-led comedy, Omugwo, Nollwood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afolayan is set to premiere his psychological thriller, Roti, on May 5 as part of the Lagos @ 50 celebration. The premiere will take place at Imax Cinemas in Lekki. The Lagos state government partnered with MultiChoice Africa and Golden Effects Pictures in sponsoring the film.
Roti follows the story of a young couple years after they lose their son, Roti, to a brief illness. The wife sees a little boy named Juwon who looks exactly like their dead son.

After discovering that Juwon is not a reincarnation of Roti, she is washed anew by grief and soon descends into depression and consequent hysteria.
The film is led by Kunle Afolayan and Kate Henshaw as the grieving couple, with Toyin Oshinaike, Fathia Balogun and Dari Afolayan round up the solid supporting cast.
