Lagos State realized a revenue of N436.328 Billion in the year 2016 compared to N399.382 Billion in 2015

The Ministry operates 7 Correctional Homes and one Old People’s Home with a total of 481 children and senior citizens

 

The audit was done with a view to decongesting the homes and discouraging institutionalization

 

A training workshop was organized for Police officers in gender unit across the State on child Protection & Safeguarding

  • The Ministry carried out child audit on registered orphanages to conduct a case review of the children in the homes
  • Officials from the Ministry embarked on a trip abroad in 2016 to ascertain the welfare of kids adopted by non-Nigerians
  • The Ministry met with Inter-Country Adoption Stakeholders in Holland & US Dept of State to foster better relationship
  • 1,237 applications for adoption & fostering have been received. 1,145 were for local adoption, 60 for Int’l adoption
  • In line with LASG staff welfare policy, an office was set up to attend to needs of staff with social challenges
  • The Ministry operates 7 Correctional Homes and one Old People’s Home with a total of 481 children and senior citizens
  • The maiden edition of IYA was held between 6th -10th March, 2017 in the 5 divisions of the State for 500 participants
  • The IBILE YOUTH ACADEMY (IYA) was conceived as an initiative to instill leadership skills into the Youth of Lagos State
  • The 3rd Legislative Assembly of the Youth Parliament was inaugurated to provide an avenue for Youth participation
  • LASG & National Youth Council of Nig donated an 18-seater bus for the benefit of members of Lagos State Youth Council
  • 16, 645 Youths were trained in various vocations to address the upsurge of unemployment among the Youths in the State
  • Lagos Global on TV, an Advocacy programme by the office debuted on Sunday 11th December, 2016
  • We want to see Lagos as the most desirable investment hub where investors can guarantee return on their investment
  • The Office has been able to streamline the time, process & cost associated with investment decision making & operations
  • Lagos as an emerging market, is becoming the financial hub and a preferred investment destination in Africa
  • The State has attracted more FDI in the 1st two years of this administration than it did in the past 15 years
  • Gov. Ambode met with High Commissions & Trade Bodies to enhance Int’l trade relations between LASG & other countries
