Harvard university students launch first national Muslim Women Leadership Summit to empower Muslim women across US

IN THE post 2016 climate, Muslim-American women have been more vulnerable than ever.

This year, a group of Harvard University students are launching the very first national leadership summit and year-long fellowship, hoping to empower over 50 young Muslim women from across the US.

Together, they will tackle the most pressing issues facing minority communities, especially in light of the recent election.

In line with Harvard University’s commitment to diversity and leadership development, the summit will take place at Harvard Kennedy School.

Prominent black American Muslim activist Blair Imani was on the panel and tweeted her excitement at being part of the event.

“I made it to Harvard,” she wrote with a side-by-side image of herself at the summit at pop star Rihanna at the famous institute to pick up her Humanitarian Award in February.
