‘Two of Una Dey Mad!’- Eedris Abdulkareem Calls Out Daddy Showkey & Daddy Fresh Over 2-Decade-Long Feud
Eedris Abdulkareem thinks it’s time Daddy Showkey and Daddy Fresh end their longstanding feud which he says isn’t beneficial to the parties and the industry.
In an interview with HipTV, which also has snapshots of his comments during a recent performance, the ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga‘ crooner says a peaceful reunion would have a strong impact on the younger generation of singers.
“If you and Showkey fight and any one of una die – God forbid bad thing! – that means say na bad thing una put for ground,” the rapper began.
“You be sweet guy and I know say you stubborn. Showkey sef stubborn. Two of una dey mad!” Eedris said on stage, directing his words to Daddy Fresh. He later went on to add, “Why do you have to fight each other for years – does that make any sense? It doesn’t make any sense.”
Daddy Showkey and Daddy Fresh who were former the members of the Ajegunle group Rap Warriors, began feuding after Daddy Fresh allegedly betrayed their group.
In his 2009 interview with Vanguard, Daddy Showkey narrated how Daddy Fresh went behind the group’s back with two other people, to pose as the ‘Rap Warriors’ for financial gain. That betrayal led to a fight that night and soured their relationship. Much later, the over 20-year-long feud was momentarily resolved in March 2016, when DJ OPJ held a peaceful reunion party for the duo.
In June of that same year, Daddy Showkey and Daddy Fresh were spotted dinning together. Apparently, they returned to beefing each other, hence Eedris Abdulkareem is calling them out to end it all.
“They should translate that drama into cash, into reality check, into love that will also encourage a lot of Ajegunle [people] and Nigerians. [Because] if Daddy Showkey and Daddy Fresh can be friends…[then we can] be family,” Eedris says.
