Known for his magnetic screen performance, way back in the day, Pete Edochie established his iconic status in the film industry when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in an NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s all-time best selling novel, ‘Things Fall Apart’. This was an instant classic..

The veteran came into the limelight in the 1980s.

Things Fall Apart, Igodo, Oracle, Narrow Escape… Pete Edochie, an indigene of Anambra state has gone on to star in over a hundred movies with notable roles.

 

Before venturing in the movie world; he worked with the Nigerian Railway Cooperation and later studied Journalism and Television in the School of Journalism and television in England. He joined the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation in 1967 and in 1980, he trained under the British Broadcasting Corporation as a broadcaster.

Chief Pete Edochie recently acted in the film 50 Days.

We celebrate one of Nigeria’s finest actors as he clocks 70.
