Adamawa State is set to benefit from the establishment of a new military sector command in Mubi, aimed at strengthening the fight against insurgency and improving security in the region.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave the assurance of his administration’s continued support to the Nigerian Armed Forces during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to the Government House in Yola.

Governor Fintiri reiterated his unwavering commitment to the security architecture of the state, noting that his government has consistently provided tactical, logistical, and strategic support to security agencies to bolster their operations against insurgents.

He commended General Musa for his efforts in updating Nigerians on the military’s ongoing operations to tackle insecurity nationwide.

While expressing optimism that new strategies will help end persistent attacks in areas such as Hong, the governor also advocated the rotation of military personnel who have remained in the same locations for extended periods.

In his remarks, General Christopher Musa appreciated the governor’s support and reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ resolve to restore peace and security in the state and across the country.

He said his visit to Adamawa was part of efforts to motivate troops on the frontline and to assess the security situation firsthand.

General Musa announced plans to establish a new military sector in Mubi and to fully equip the command with the resources necessary to effectively combat insurgent activities, especially in Hong and other vulnerable communities.
