Kwara United secures 2-0 Victory over Kano Pillars
Kwara United has delivered a commanding performance on matchday 28 of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), defeating Kano Pillars 2-0 at the George Innih Stadium in Ilorin.
The victory has propelled the team to 11th place on the NPFL table with 39 points, as they now set their sights on their next fixture against Rangers in Enugu.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was present at the match, praised the team for their impressive display, particularly highlighting their determination and resilience while fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
“Sport is very important. It was a good game despite the fasting,” Governor AbdulRazaq said. He urged the team to maintain their top form and continue pushing for continental qualification, emphasising the significance of their performance for the state and its football-loving fans.
Ahmed Musa Shines Despite Kano Pillars’ Defeat
While Kwara United celebrated a well-deserved victory, Kano Pillars’ captain and Super Eagles star, Ahmed Musa, earned widespread admiration from fans in Ilorin for his exceptional performance.
Despite the 2-0 loss, Musa showcased his vast experience and technical skills, drawing cheers from the crowd every time he touched the ball.
The winger’s presence on the pitch added a layer of excitement to the match, with fans applauding his contributions to Nigerian football over the years.
