AFCON 2025: Super Eagles drawn in Group C

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Group C, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The three-time African Champion faces a diverse array of opponents in Group C. Tunisia, a consistent powerhouse in African football, promises to be a tough challenge for the Super Eagles, while Uganda and Tanzania add an element of energy and unpredictability to the group.

The Super Eagles have a storied history in the Africa Cup of Nations, with three titles to their name from 1980, 1994, and 2013.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles failed to win AFCON 2023 as host country, Ivory Coast, defeated Nigeria 2-1 in a dramatic Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) championship game played at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

Host nation Morocco will compete in Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and Comoros, while defending champions Côte d’Ivoire find themselves in Group F with Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is set to begin on December 21, 2025, with group-stage matches taking place until December 31, excluding Christmas Day.
