Fidelity Bank & Abbasid Charity Foundation, Feed 1,500 Vulnerable Households In Nasarawa State
Fidelity Food Bank in collaboration with Abbasid Charity Foundation have distributed food items to one thousand, five hundred vulnerable households in Nasarawa Eggon Local government Area of Nasarawa State, North Central Nigeria.
Distribution the food items, the Regional Manager Fidelity Bank PLC. Mrs Vanessa Mordi said the gesture is to help the vulnerable and the disabled household to cushion the effects of the high cost of food items.
She said the initiative was aimed at contributing to the food security in the country.
“This project has been going on for the past two years, it is an initiative where we try and give back to the community, call cooperate social responsibility”, she said
The founder Abbasid Charity Foundation, Hauwa Maijida Abbas said the commitment was to eliminate hunger among vulnerable persons in the society.
She said the foundation and Fidelity Bank have partner, doing so much to the vulnerable people in the society.
“We have so far covered almost everywhere in the northern part of the country and some southern parts too”.
“The one pack which contains 2 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of garri and indomie noddles would feed about 20 people in a house, and more than two million people have benefited from such gesture”, Maijida Abbas said.
Meanwhile the Executive chairman Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Council, Mr. Iliya Ibn Aliyu said that the distribution of food items to Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area is a unique gesture and one of it’s kind in the history of the LG.
He appreciates Fidelity Bank, Abbasid Charity Foundation for the gesture emphasizing that Nasarawa Eggon would forever be grateful.
The LG Boss however call on well meaning people in the community to emulate such gesture as government alone cannot do it.
Some Beneficiaries, Mrs, Margaret Agala, Halima Ibrahim and James Jatau, appreciate the LG Chairman, Fidelity Bank, and Abbasid Charity Foundation for this wonderful gesture and pray to God to bless them.
