Team Delta crowned Champions of 2024 National Youth Games 

In a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 National Youth Games held in Nigeria, Team Delta has emerged victorious, claiming the championship title after an impressive display of athletic prowess and teamwork. This year’s games, which took place from September 7 to September 17, featured over 10,000 young athletes competing across various sports disciplines, showcasing the immense talent present in Nigeria’s youth.

Host state, Delta has emerged champions of the 8th National Youth Games for the second consecutive year. The state won a total of 111 medals comprising of 46 gold, 31 silver and 34 bronze to be declared overall winners of the championship held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the Delta State Capital. It would be recall that Delta State hosted the 7th edition of the Games and topped the medals table with 51 gold, 34 silver and 11 bronze medals.

With this victory, the state has won all editions of the National Youth Games from 2016 till date.

Meanwhile, 35 states including the FCT won medals excluding Ebonyi State unlike last year when it was about 27 states while Rivers State was the only State that failed to participate.
