YUCATECO Boxing League 2: Bakare, others show class in week 4

YUCATECO Boxing League 2: In the fourth week of the Yucateco Boxing League 2, several boxers showcased their skills and talent, with particular emphasis on the performance of Bakare. The event highlighted not only individual prowess but also the competitive spirit that characterizes this boxing league. The competition is gradually shaping up for some pugilists as the Yucateco Boxing League Season 2 completed its week 4 round of bouts.

This time the widely followed boxing train did a stop at the Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos for yet another thrilling round of contest. Residents of Ago Palace way and its environs were thrilled with the brilliant display of mettle and mastery by several boxers on the fight card.

Moruf Uthman of E-Francis Aiyegbeni boxing club continued with his bright start to the season as he made a soft work of Progreso BC’s Emmanuel Gabriel with a 5-0 triumph in their 51kg contest.
The second 51kg bout also recorded another one-sided show as Taiwo Bakare of Akil boxing club secured a 5-0 win over Mahmud Samad of Anthony BC.

However, it turned out to be a keenly contested affair in 57kg contest between Progreso BC’s Ajeigbe Ayuba and Tairu Rasak of E-Francis boxing club with Tairu bagging a 3-2 victory. Technical Director of the Yucateco Boxing League Babatunde Laguda, said the focus of the promotion remains fixated on grooming the next generation of boxers that will win medals for Nigeria at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics games.

A total of twenty-four (24) bouts were completed in week 4 of the Yucateco boxing league. Osun state will be the next point of call for week 5 round of bouts slated for Friday 6th September.

Twelve (12) boxing clubs are competing for the grand prize of N50 Million in Season 2 of the Yucateco Boxing League.

Performance Highlights

During this week’s matches, Bakare stood out with a remarkable display of technique and strategy.
