Kabiru Dogo: Sunshine Stars’ players welfare should be top priority demands

Sunshine Stars new coach Kabiru Dogo has demanded that the Akure club should make players’ welfare top priority in the coming season.

“No matter what you spend on the coach and administration, if the players are not happy, you cannot achieve anything,” the former Nasarawa United coach argued.

“The welfare of the players is very, very important.

“I have been assured that the players will be well taken care of.

“If the management can do that for me, you have done half of the job for me.”

This past season, Sunshine Stars failed to pay their players for several months.

Dogo promised to return Sunshine Stars to the top of the league as that is where they belong, while pleading on the supporters to be patient.

At the height of their glory, Sunshine Stars reached the semifinals of both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
