While we’ve had a lot of strong tracks released in the first half of the year, most of the biggest hits have come courtesy of Wizkid‘s help — from Duncan Mighty’s “Fake Love” to DJ Spinall’s “Nowo” — and the biggest so far has definitely been “Soco”.
Since the track’s release, like with most hits, a lot of talented artists have released their own refixes, remixes and covers, but we think Ghanaian rapper and singer, Eugy might have just dropped the best and most memorable one yet.
While the original track has a bunch of solid featured acts — Terri, Spotless and Ceeza Milli — everyone can agree that Wizkid is the best thing about the entire song, delivering the intro, pre-chorus and standout chorus with his usual infectious touch.
For his remix, Eugy smartly leaves Wizkid’s intro, pre-chorus and chorus untouched, and drops two catchy verses that, unlike what we got on the original track, benefit from not sounding like they were performed by a Wizkid clone.
