Everything We Know About Tope Oshin’s Upcoming Film, ‘Up North’

Multiple award-winning filmmaker, Tope Oshin has definitely earned her boss status. We always look forward to new projects from her, and this year alone, she’s already given us New Money and teased the upcoming We Don’t Live Here Anymore.

Now, in collaboration with Inkblot Productions and Anakle Films, she’s announced another film, Up North.

Like we’ve said many times before, Nollywood loves to act like young people don’t exist, as they are always used as accessories to the story rather than the focal point. The film industry also seems to focus solely on the popular and cosmopolitan parts of the country.

This is why Up North is so exciting. The film will follow a young rebellious heir whose NYSC year doesn’t quite go according to plan, as he is sent up North. Shot in Lagos and Bauchi, the film explores love, friendship and family politics, all of which collide, creating memories to last a lifetime.

The movie will star talented actors such as Kanayo O Kanayo, Banky W, Michelle Dede, Big Brother Naija‘s T Boss and more. We’re not sure when the movie is coming out, but we can’t wait for a trailer and more information on the film.
