Following their incredible collaboration on “Ginger” and “Caro” — two of the most iconic afropop songs of the last decade — we were really excited to hear that L.A.X and Wizkid were teaming up again, and, to no one’s surprise, they came through with another bop: “Nobody”.
Produced by Altims — the Mavin Records genius responsible for a lot of Reekado Banks’ most iconic songs — “Nobody” finds Wizkid and L.A.X sticking to the formula that’s worked for them in the past: singing about trying to get with a stunning woman.
While “Nobody” isn’t quite as great as “Ginger” or “Caro”, it’s still an impressive effort that proves both afropop stars still have chemistry to spare. It also has potential to be the rare Wizkid feature that doesn’t get forgotten in a couple of days — unlike most of the songs he’s been on this year.
As for L.A.X, the singer has teased, on multiple occasions, that he is currently working on his debut album, King Rasaki. Well, if “Nobody” and his 2017 hit, “Run Away”, are any indicators of what we should expect from the project, then we are definitely going to love it.
