Watch The Teaser For ‘Journey Of An African Colony; The Making Of Nigeria’

Lagos, one of the most vibrant cities in the world, is a melting pot of cultures and opportunities, and even though Nigeria has a myriad of problems, Lagos is the most forward-moving of all its 36 states.

In his documentary, Journey of an African Colony; The Making of NigeriaOlasupo Shashore goes all the way to the beginning to tell the story of how Lagos became Nigeria’s economic capital.

The documentary, produced and hosted by Olasupo Shasore in partnership with Nemsia Studios, will chronicle the history of Nigeria’s growth from colonization — meaning we get to see what Nigeria was, and, just maybe, see what it can be again.

The teaser shows an elderly Caucasian couple reminiscing about a time when Ikoyi was one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the entire world — that’s just how prestigious Lagos was, during colonial times. The documentary promises to be both thought-provoking and heart-breaking, especially considering the position that the country is currently in.

Olasupo Shashore is the former attorney general & commissioner for justice in Lagos, as well as a historian and author. He was also born and has lived most of his life in Lagos, so who better to tell the story. He has written many books, including A Platter Of Gold and Possessed, which the documentary is based on.
