Tekno Takes It To The Streets In The Video For His New Song, ‘Jogodo’
A few weeks ago, Tekno released “Jogodo“, which sampled Mad Melon & Mountain Black’s “Kpolongo” all the way from 2005. Following the release, the duo expressed their distaste, saying that Tekno never asked their permission to use the song, however, that all seems to have been resolved.
In the wake of this, Tekno has just released a music video for the self-produced song, making it even more enjoyable to listen to!
Upon first listen, we weren’t really sure what the subject matter of “Jogodo” was, as it’s mostly full of slangs and made-up words. Thankfully, the accompanying video has brought to light that it’s actually just a love song.

In the video, we see Tekno wander the streets of Lagos in search of a beautiful woman, who he finds amidst the chaos of the marketplace. Lyrics like “When she comes for the area, all the boys them jo wa jo” become clearer, since it’s basically what he does throughout the video.
“Jogodo” is definitely the best thing Tekno’s dropped this year — easily surpassing his last two releases, “Anyhow” and “Yur Luv” — and we’re looking forward to hearing more from his upcoming EP.
