Producer Sess assembles two consistently solid stars, Adekunle Gold and Reminisce on New Single, ‘Original Gangster’

Sess is easily one of the most exciting producers working today. While he’s mostly known for helming Falz’s biggest and best hits, he’s also responsible for a lot of other jams, including Simi’s “One Kain” and Terry Apala’s “Champagne Showers”.

For his latest single, “Original Gangster”, the talented producer assembles two consistently solid stars, Adekunle Gold and Reminisce, and they both deliver.

While the song’s themes and production feel more tailored to Reminisce’s musical sensibilities (he is stellar on the track), Adekunle Gold still manages to outshine the rapper by stepping out of his comfort zone on the chorus — reminding us just how versatile he actually he is.

On the track, Reminisce and Adekunle Gold both brag about being “original gangsters” — warning haters not to try them and reminding anyone who’s listening just how badass they are (If you no know, ask anybody/I be young dada, original gangster”).

While Sess has already proven himself to be Falz’s not-so-secret weapon, “Original Gangster” shows he’s more than capable of elevating any other rapper’s game as well. It’ll be a shock if more rappers aren’t knocking down his studio door, begging to work with him.
