Simi Over Delivered on Somi Jones’ Catchy New Single, ‘Blow Me Away’
There’s no doubting how talented Simi is, as she usually comes correct every time she steps into the studio. Since she dropped her eponymous album last year, she’s become one of the most beloved Nigerian singers, and it’s really not that hard to see why.
Now, to give us some fresh sounds to vibe to this year, she’s teamed up with producer and DJ, Somi Jones (alongside OZ) on his catchy new single, “Blow Me Away“.
Enlisting Simi for this song was a smart move by Somi, as it immediately caught our attention. Since we haven’t gotten any new music from the singer in a while, we were super excited to hear her deliver on the track, and spoiler alert: she does.
Even though this is a completely different sound from what we’re used to hearing Simi do, she manages to steal the show with her sweet vocals and charisma. The beat is very unusual and exciting, fusing the colourful rhythms of afropop with the electronic vibes of EDM.
Given that this isn’t the kind of music we usually hear around here, we’re definitely interested in hearing more from the talented Somi Jones.
