Video: Chidinma Wants Her Man To Show Her Off In Her ‘Yanga’ New Video
It’s really great to have Chidinma back to doing what she does best: blessing us with adorable love songs. A couple months ago, she ended her painfully long hiatus with the unabashedly romantic “Love Me”, and now she’s back with an even better track, “Yanga”.
Produced by Oscar — the genius responsible for most of Simi’s best and most popular tracks — “Yanga” is a catchy afropop song that finds Chidinma singing about wanting to be shown off by her man, and doing the same with him.
On the track, it’s clear that Chidinma is no longer interested in a lowkey relationship (“Dem no know say na me be your baby”), as she asks her lover to “carry [her] do yanga”. It’s a sentiment a lot of people will definitely relate to.
For the music video, which was directed by Mex, Chidinma goes on a date with her man, but he starts acting cold as soon as they are in public. After she makes it clear what she wants from him — in song, of course — he fixes up and becomes more comfortable with PDA.
