Video: This Is What A Nollywood Version Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Would Look Like

Sketch comedy shows have become a real rarity, and those that do exist are not exactly known for their diversity. This seems to be changing, however, thanks to Famalam — a BBC 3 comedy sketch show which has become our current obsession.

Helmed by a really talented all-black cast, Famalam hilariously explores what it is like to be black and British today — tackling serious societal issues with a light yet intelligent touch.

A lot of their spoofs are super relatable to black people all over the world, and given that we love Nollywood and Game Of Thrones over here, we found their Nollywood version of Game Of Thrones sketch particularly funny.

In this episode, Famalam marries the worlds of exaggerated Nollywood movie trailers with Game Of Thrones, by taking the piss out of both. With subtle jabs, such as replacing “HBO” with “IGBO” and turning Joffrey into Jollofry, this episode was absolutely brilliant.

While we know this isn’t what a Nollywood version of Game Of Thrones would actually be like — we don’t need one by the way — we think this was a well-observed parody, and we can’t wait to see what Famalam does next.
